Utilization of Foreign Capital includes foreign loans, foreign direc t
investment, other foreign investment. Foreign capital includes cash, foods, in dustrial
property right, special technique, etc. Foreign Borrowings refer to funds borrowed from abroad by the Chines e
government at all levels, by various departments, enterprises, bank of China a nd other
economic units. It includes: (a) loans of foreign governments, (b) loan s of international
financial institutions, (c) remittance loans of foreign banks , (d) export credit of
foreign banks, (e) bonds, shares issued abroad and the fu nds that local departments
(enterprises) directly borrow from abroad, etc.
Direct Investment by
Foreign Enterprises refers to the investment in side China by foreign enterprises and
economic organizations or individuals (in cluding overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong
Kong and Macao, and Chinese ente rprises registered abroad), following the relevant
policies and laws of China, f or the establishment of ventures exclusively with foreign
own investment, Sino-f oreign joint ventures and cooperative enterprises or for
cooperative explorati o n of resources with enterprises or economic organizations in
China.
Other Investment by
Foreign Enterprises refers to the investments of excluding foreign borrowings, direct
investment by foreign enterprises. It main ly includes (a) compensation trade, (b)
provided equipment as price by foreign, (c) international renting (d) other. Actual
investment in current year, includin g actual investment in current year or signed in
previous years.
Direct Foreign
Investment Contracted refer to the total capital that according to the contract, foreign
investor should provide.It includes the investment & equipment directly offered by
foreign investor and the foreign loans promisesed by foreign investor.
Actually Used foreign
Capital refers to foreign actual investment of which the signed agreements &
contracts. Foreign capital actually used, followi ng actual allocated funds for loans,
following actual investment for direct inve stment by foreign enterprises, following
actual coming merchandises for other fo reign investment.
Total Imports and
Exports at Customs refers to the value of commodit ies imported into and exported from the
boundary of China. Imports and exports t rade are the base on customs supervision, being
divided into: common trade, supp lies and gifts as aid given gratis between governments
and by the United Nations and other international organizations, and contributions donated
by overseas Ch inese, compatriots in Hong Kong and Macao and Chinese with foreign
citizenship, compensation trade, the processing and assembling trades and materials,
imported and exported commodities processed with imported materials, consignment and com
mission agent trade, commodities trading in border areas, overseas projects cont racted,
leasing trade, imported equipments & goods by foreign enterprises, proce ssed trade
with exported materials, barter trade, tax-free goods, imported and e xported goods sold
in China from bonded warehouses and other imported or exporte d goods.
Total Imports and
Exports of Main Business Units of Tianjin (foreign trad e imports & exports) include
those at Tianjin customs and other customs. T he data of customs statistics has been used
since January 1999.
